HISTORIC SEVENTH DAY ADVENTIST MUSEUM

My friend, Gerrit Wessels of Boshof, told me about the link between his family and the seventh day Adventist church denomination in Kimberley. His mother is also a descendant of the Kimberley-De Beers. He showed me the church in the photograph and promised me to write the full story how the Wessels-family brought in ministers from Anmerica to Kimberley. As soon as he has given me the full story, I will publish it on my Blog.

Gerrit Wessels corrected the information about the De Beers and this church museum and said that it was the Wessels family who brought in the pastors from America.

In my previous publications, the reader can read all about the original De Beer who's name perpetuated in the famous DE BEERS DIAMOND COMPANY. When I visited his grave in the Boshof district in the Free State (South Africa), one of his descendants told me that he spent a great deal of his money that he received in selling his farm in Kimberley to Cecil John Rhodes, on some or other church denomination. In my research thus far, however, I am unable to establish whether he also gave money to this specific church.
