TD POTGIETER AND THE TECHNICON FREE STATE
The father of the idea for a college for advanced technical education in Bloemfontein, South Africa, came from TD Potgieter (Uncle Pottie) during the late seventies. He was a member of the Orange Free State Provincial council and started to canvas among fellow politicians as well as community leaders for such an institution. Eventually he succeeded in his ground work and today the city of Bloemfontein can boast with the Central University of Technology, Free State that grew out of his idea. (http:www.cut.ac.za).
